Terms of Service
Last updated 21 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Mangiare. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them, and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Mangiare.
The service
Mangiare is a free app for saving recipes, planning meals and building grocery lists with your household. It is run by an individual based in Western Australia, Australia (“we”, “us”). We can reach you, and you can reach us, at contact@mangiare.com.au.
It is a young product. We may change, pause or remove features, and the service may be unavailable at times. We will try to give notice of big changes but we do not promise any particular level of availability.
Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- Give a real email address you can read, and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Tell us if you think someone else has got into your account.
Households
Content you add to a household is visible to everyone in it, and household admins can invite and remove members. Only invite people you are happy to share with. If you leave or are removed, you lose access to that household’s content. If you delete your account, the rules in the Privacy Policy apply, including that an admin must hand the household to someone else first if other people share it.
Your content
- You keep ownership of what you add. You give us permission to store it, copy it and process it, including by sending it to the AI and other services listed in the Privacy Policy, only so we can run Mangiare for you and your household.
- Only save, import or upload things you have the right to use. Mangiare is for keeping recipes for your own household. Do not use it to copy, republish or sell other people’s work.
- Do not add anything unlawful, harmful, or that infringes someone else’s rights, and do not upload photos of other people without their permission.
If you believe something in Mangiare infringes your copyright, email contact@mangiare.com.au with the web address or recipe and what you want done. We will look into it promptly and may remove the content.
Imported and AI-generated results
Mangiare uses automated tools to read recipes from web pages, videos and photos. The results can be incomplete or wrong, including ingredients, quantities, cooking times and steps. Mangiare does not give nutritional, medical or allergy advice. Check every recipe yourself, especially for allergies and food safety, before you cook or serve it.
Acceptable use
Do not:
- break the law, or use Mangiare to harass, defraud or harm anyone;
- try to get into other people’s accounts or households, or probe or attack the service or the systems it runs on;
- use bots, scripts or other automated means to use the app, or run a large volume of imports or fetches, beyond normal personal use;
- point imports at addresses you are not allowed to access, or try to make Mangiare reach private systems;
- resell the service or use it to build a competing one.
We limit how much automated work an account can trigger, and may slow or stop requests that look like abuse.
Ending your use
You can stop at any time and delete your account from Settings. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk, and we may close the service altogether. If we do, we will try to give you a reasonable chance to download your data first.
What we do and do not promise
Mangiare is provided free and “as is”. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot be excluded. Subject to that, to the extent the law allows we are not liable for loss or damage from using Mangiare, including lost data, an incorrect imported recipe, or a food, allergy or safety problem, and where we are liable our total liability is limited to resupplying the service or, if that is not possible, A$100. Keep your own copy of anything important; you can download your data from Settings.
General
- We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top and, if the change matters, tell you in the app or by email. Using Mangiare after that means you accept the new terms.
- These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia, and the courts of Western Australia have jurisdiction, though this does not remove any right you have to go to another forum under the law.
- If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
